Based in West Yorkshire, Fox & Moon Fairs has developed a brand of vintage antique fairs that are popular with stallholders and visitors alike, things are however most definitely on hold.
Lock down obviously means no fairs, but for me it's been impossible to consider staging fairs during the rest of the year; the safety of stallholders, fair visitors and staff will always come first.
The reluctance to perhaps book a stall or to attend an event is, with the above in mind, completely understandable but coupled with the unpredictability of ever changing local restrictions makes it impossible for Fox and Moon to commit to booking venues.
WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE...
The Fox and Moon crystal ball is currently in for repairs so it's back to the old tea leaves. The latest predictions is spring 2021 at the earliest. I had already been considering how to diversify the business. Some of the ideas involved adding back in online sales, whilst others revolved around developing more creative skills, products and services. It's fair to say that complete lack of fair income at all in 2020 (and question marks over the first half of 2021) has brought such ideas to the fore; I'll be using this lock down to spend time updating the Fox and Moon website and social media to set out our new stalls, watch this space...
